Bedford, Ind. – July 4, 2023
A Bedford man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, July 4, 2023, following a pursuit on Tunnelton Road in Lawrence County, which led to his arrest on multiple charges.
Bloomington District Trooper Cody Brown attempted to pull over a 2012 blue Hyundai for a traffic violation. The vehicle was spotted heading northbound on Tunnelton Road, before the driver, later identified as 27-year-old Douglas Holbrook from Bedford, Indiana, refused to stop, resulting in a brief pursuit.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and additional Troopers from the Indiana State Police provided their assistance. Trooper Tyler Trueblood tried to use stop sticks, but Holbrook skillfully avoided them.

Holbrook was wanted on a warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony; Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor; and Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.
Following his release from IU Health, Holbrook was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. He now faces charges of Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 6 Felony; Operating While Intoxicated under Controlled Substance, a Class C Misdemeanor; and the arrest warrant.
