The vibrant melodies and rhythms of world music will fill the air at Peoples Park next week as the popular Peoples Park Concert Series continues.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., Dan Kusaya, a talented musician born in Rusape, Zimbabwe, will showcase his passion for traditional music and instruments, including ngoma, hosho, marimba, and mbira.

Kusaya’s journey in music began during his early childhood when he quickly displayed a natural talent and deep interest in traditional music. Growing up in Zimbabwe, he immersed himself in the rich musical heritage of his culture, mastering various instruments and learning the intricacies of traditional melodies.

With a repertoire rooted in world music and dance, Kusaya captivates audiences with his energetic performances and infectious rhythms. His fusion of traditional African sounds with contemporary influences creates a unique and captivating musical experience that transcends borders and connects people from different backgrounds.

The Peoples Park Concert Series is held every Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in Bloomington.

The concert series, which runs throughout the summer, has featured a diverse lineup of artists representing various genres and musical traditions. From folk and blues to rock and world music, each week offers a new and exciting experience for music enthusiasts.
