City of Bloomington Utilities Hosts First Landscape Education Workshop

The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) is announced its inaugural Landscape Education Workshop, aimed at addressing drainage and erosion challenges in the face of a changing climate. The workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will be held at the Switchyard Park Pavilion located at 1601 S. Rogers St.

The workshop aims to benefit a wide range of participants, from homeowners to professional landscaping firms, providing them with valuable insights into sustainable landscaping practices. By partnering with other City departments, the CBU intends to offer attendees a comprehensive understanding of best stormwater practices, appropriate plant selection, and a guided tour of the landscaped features at Switchyard Park.

Kriste Lindberg, spokesperson for the City of Bloomington Utilities, expressed her enthusiasm about the event, emphasizing its potential impact on the community’s landscaping efforts. “We are excited to organize our first-ever Landscape Education Workshop, with a focus on fostering sustainable practices in landscaping.
