A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 17-year-old Owen Valley Senior Tristan Calvin on the night of July 20, 2023, according to Facebook posts from the Owen County Sheriff’s Office, and Owen Valley High School.
The Owen County Sheriff’s Office, accompanied by other emergency responders, arrived at the scene of the accident to initiate an investigation. However, the exact circumstances leading to the fatal crash have yet to be determined.
The OCSO expressed their condolences, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family that were affected by this terrible tragedy.”
Known for his involvement in various extracurricular activities, Calvin was a member of the Cross Country, Track, and Swimming teams, in addition to the Patriot Band.
In a post addressing the loss, Owen Valley High School the following on Facebook:
“To the Patriot Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of one of our own. Owen Valley Senior Tristan Calvin was in a single car accident last night. As a result of this accident, Tristan tragically lost his life.
Tristan was an active student at Owen Valley High School. He was a member of the Cross Country, Track, and Swimming Teams while also marching in the Patriot Band. Through these activities and daily interactions at school, Tristan positively impacted everyone around him. We plan to honor Tristan’s legacy, and we will run, swim, march, and play in his memory throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
This is an extremely sad time, and we ask that you keep all of the Calvin family in your thoughts and prayers.
