A 62-year-old man was arrested on charges of intimidation after allegedly brandishing a machete and making threats against another individual. The incident occurred on July 24, 2023, and involved a known suspect and a victim who reported the encounter to police.
According to the official police report, the incident took place at approximately 5:46 PM on July 24th in the 2400 block of South Winslow Ct. A 32-year-old man reported to law enforcement that a male he was familiar with had brandished a machete, threatening his safety during the altercation.
After gathering statements and evidence, the police arrested a, 62-year-old man, in connection with the incident. The suspect was taken into custody on charges of intimidation.
Following the arrest, a probable cause affidavit was completed, providing the basis for the formal charges against the suspect.
The Bloomington Police Department did not disclose further details about the motive behind the altercation or the relationship between the suspect and the victim. However, it was confirmed that the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the encounter.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
