The Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington is set to host its Annual Art Fair and Bazaar, bringing together a diverse selection of artists and traditional delights for a two-day celebration of creativity and community.
The event will take place at 2120 N. Fee Lane, Bloomington, at the bypass, on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Holiday shoppers and art enthusiasts can look forward to an array of artworks, ranging from paintings, watercolors, textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media. Only the finest artists have been chosen for this juried show, with participants hailing not only from Bloomington and Indiana but also the broader Midwest region. This Art Fair is the ideal place to discover that perfect gift for loved ones or oneself.
The Bazaar will bring together time-honored traditions. Visitors can embark on a “Cookie Cruise” through various homemade cookie options and choose their favorites, paying by weight. Additionally, the Gourmet Galaxy offers freshly baked bread and other delectable treats.
One of the highlights of the Bazaar is the White Elephant room, where visitors can hunt for treasures among the contributions made by church members. There will also be an extensive selection of affordably priced used books to cater to book lovers and those seeking new reading material.
Various church task forces will be presenting their own contributions to the event. The Habitat Task Force will showcase homemade jewelry and crafts, while the International Outreach will offer jewelry and art from Kenya. For those looking to add a stylish touch to their winter wardrobe, scarves and hand-knit hats will be available as part of a fundraiser for United Ministries.
Moreover, the UUnique Cafe will be serving up soups and desserts.
The event spans two days, allowing visitors to reconsider any missed items from the first day and take advantage of special bargains available in the White Elephant room during the last few hours.
Both days will offer free admission and free parking for all attendees. It’s a perfect opportunity to revel in the holiday spirit, support local and regional artists, and partake in a community event.
