FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
11 th ANNUAL GARDEN GALA TO SUPPORT MOTHER HUBBARD’S CUPBOARD
On Friday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard will host their eleventh Garden Gala to
support its programming that increases access to healthy food in ways that cultivate dignity, self-
sufficiency, and community. The event will take place at the agency (1100 W. Allen St.), where attendees
will be able to tour the Hub’s on-site garden as they enjoy local music, food, and drink.
“We love gathering with the community are thrilled to host you all for a summer evening alongside so
many local talents. It’s incredible to see how our community shows up to support increased access to
healthy food in ways that cultivate dignity, agency, and community,” said Megan Betz, the Hub’s CEO
and President. This year, attendees will again enjoy an event featuring some of Bloomington’s greatest
hits, including live music from Trumusiq, who will offer a range of R&B, jazz, funk, and soul.
People’s Cooperative Market, a partner in the Hub’s Farmer Support Initiative through which the agency
purchases local food to stock its pantry, will again cater the event with options for vegan, vegetarian, and
gluten-free guests. Cardinal Spirits will host a bar featuring a signature gala cocktail of their creation
along with local beverages.
The evening’s raffle will feature themed baskets to match a wide range of interests from tickets to local
venues like IU Auditorium, the Comedy Attic and the Buskirk Chumley; entry to regional features like
Holiday World and the Indianapolis Zoo; gift cards from Landlocked and Time and Tide Tattoo; a tune-
up form Bikesmiths; and pampering from Herbal Kindness and That’s the Rub.
