Featuring a JASON CRAWL partnership with IU Cinema
Bloomington, IN – Looking for a fun way to kick-off the Halloween season? Constellation Stage & Screen is proud to present its October Film Screening Series: Constellation Stage & SCREAM, featuring Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), Shock Treatment (1981), and our 18th annual showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Tickets are on sale now through the Constellation Stage & Screen Box Office and can be purchased online, over the phone, or in person (details below).
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986):
Celebrate a Friday the 13th in October like a true horrorhound… with a screening of, not one but TWO, of the greatest installments in the long-running slasher franchise. Constellation is teaming up with IU Cinema to present a JASON CRAWL, on Friday, October 13th (of course!). Start your night with Friday the 13th Part II (1981) at IU Cinema at 7:00pm. Then head over to the Waldron Firebay at 10:00pm for Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986). Show your ticket stubs for both events at the Waldron for a chance to win a massive Blu-Ray FRIDAY THE 13TH box set!
At Constellation’s screening, attendees will also be invited to participate in a pre-screening Scream-Off. The owner of the most blood-curdling horror scream will receive a special door prize. The bar and concessions will be open throughout the film, so enjoy some refreshments and snacks!
Shock Treatment (1981)
It’s not a sequel… it’s not a prequel… it’s an equal! If you’re mad for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you need some serious Shock Treatment. Come see this cult classic, written by the original creators of Rocky Horror, on October 20th at 7:30pm in the Waldron Rose Firebay. Our main characters, Brad and Janet Majors, are contestants on a popular Denton TV game show called “Marriage Maze.” But what are the real motivations behind the kooky DTV crew and their enigmatic head-honcho, Farley Flavors? With an insanely catchy rock score, Shock Treatment is an under-appreciated gem and more-than-deserving of the same legendary cult status of its predecessor.
Rocky Horror fanatics will be invited to put their knowledge to the test with a pre-screening Trivia contest! The winning Transylvanian will leave Denton with a special door prize.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Let’s do the Time Warp again! Constellation Stage & Screen continues The Rocky Horror Picture Show tradition with an interactive screening on Saturday, October 21 at 7:00pm & 11:00pm at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Join us 30 minutes prior to each screening for a fabulous pre-show event hosted by the Midwest Cosplay Queen: Oriana Perón! This pre-show event will feature a costume contest, devirginization ceremony, and more!
This film has a long history of audience participation. At screenings, audiences typically throw rice, ring bells, yell specific phrases, and generally cause mayhem in the theater! Prop bags with goodies and guides on how to participate in this cult-classic tradition will be available to purchase for $5 with tickets or at the show (while supplies last). The Rocky Horror Picture Show has a history of selling out, so make sure to book tickets in advance!
