The Monroe County Humane Association (MCHA) extends an invitation to the community for the 28th annual Run for the Animals & Barktoberfest, set to take place on Sunday, October 1, amidst the backdrop of Karst Farm Park.
More than just a 5K run/walk, the Run for the Animals event is a message of hope, compassion, and a collective commitment to the community, according to the MCHA. Each stride taken and every dollar raised directly contributes to supporting MCHA’s essential programs and services, ensuring that beloved animals in the community receive the care and love they deserve. Simultaneously, Barktoberfest guarantees a day filled with boundless joy, offering a wide array of attractions, including local vendors, an off-leash dog play area, contests, raffles, and more. Best of all, Barktoberfest is open to our community members absolutely free of charge!
This enduring event, which has been a beacon of unity and fun for nearly three decades, stands as a testament to the spirit of the community and MCHA’s unwavering dedication to the cause of animal welfare.
Event Highlights:
- 9:00 AM: Barktoberfest commences, and on-site Run/Walk Registration begins.
- 9:50 AM: Registration for the Run/Walk concludes.
- 10:00 AM: The 5K Run/Walk Race kicks off.
- 11:00 AM: Awards ceremony for the 5K Run/Walk Race.
- 11:30 AM: Prepare to be entertained by the delightful Fastest Peanut Butter Licker Contest.
- 12:00 PM: Showcase your pet’s Halloween spirit at the Pet Costume Contest.
- 12:30 PM: Anticipate the unveiling of Raffle Winners.
- 1:00 PM: Barktoberfest concludes.
