Two Southern Indiana Men Arrested for Theft of Vehicle from Local Dealership in Clark County

Sellersburg, Indiana – October 12, 2023

Two individuals from southern Indiana have been apprehended following an investigation led by detectives from the Indiana State Police Sellersburg District, according to the Indiana State Police.

On October 5th, Hill’s Auto Sales in Henryville, Indiana, reported a stolen vehicle to Detective Mike Bennett of the Sellersburg ISP Post, initiating an extensive inquiry. According to Hill’s Auto Sales, a white 2014 Ford F-350 truck vanished from their lot during the early hours of Sunday, October 1st.

Detective Bennett promptly initiated an investigation, which involved the review of surveillance footage in the vicinity, as well as the application of various investigative techniques. As a result, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, Detective Bennett took into custody Derius I. Bell, a 30-year-old resident of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and Quincy C. Bumpass, a 19-year-old from Clarksville, Indiana. Both individuals were arrested on charges of Motor Vehicle Theft, classified as a Level 6 Felony. The suspects were transported to the Clark County Jail without any significant incident.

The stolen Ford F-350 truck was discovered in Crawford County, Indiana, and will be promptly returned to Hill’s Auto Sales.
