The following was written from the announcement:
Bloomington, IN – The Monroe County Public Library (MCPL) has announced a series of programs and events for the month of November, catering to a wide range of age groups and interests. From encouraging residents to participate in local charity initiatives to hosting fun activities for kids, teens, and adults, MCPL is serving the community with a diverse set of offerings.
Positive Change Program:
Throughout the month of November, MCPL has partnered with Bloomingfoods, a local grocery store chain, to promote the “Positive Change Program.” Shoppers at any Bloomingfoods location can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, with the money raised during the first seven days of November being matched by a generous donor. This initiative provides an opportunity for residents to support the library and contribute to its programs.
The Great MCPL Kids Bake Off: Fall Colors Edition:
For young aspiring bakers, MCPL presents the “Great MCPL Kids Bake Off: Fall Colors Edition.” Participants can register and pick up a baking kit from their preferred MCPL location. With a special mystery ingredient, young bakers will be challenged to create a show-stopping autumn-themed dessert. Entries can be submitted by November 22, and the baker with the most scrumptious-looking and creative dish will win a gift card to a local bakery.
eResource of the Month: HeritageHub:
HeritageHub, available through Newsbank, is MCPL’s eResource of the month. This resource is designed to help individuals explore their family history by providing access to a premier collection of U.S. obituaries and death notices dating back to 1704. HeritageHub is a valuable tool for those interested in genealogical research and connecting with their roots.
