Bloomington, Indiana – December 4, 2023
The Bloomington Fire Department is once again rallying the community for their annual Heroes Helping Hoosiers food drive, aiming to combat hunger during the holiday season.
Max Litwin, Deputy Chief of the Bloomington Fire Department, announced the launch of the drive, urging residents to participate by donating non-perishable food items. The initiative, now a tradition, seeks to support those facing food insecurity in the community.
Litwin emphasized the significance of the donations, stating, “Your generous donations allow for those in need to worry a little less about finding something to eat around the holiday season. Everything helps! As always, your support is appreciated tremendously.”
The donation boxes have been set up at each of the department’s five stations across the city:
- HQ: 226 S College Ave
- Station 2: 209 S Fairfield Dr
- Station 3: 810 N Woodlawn Ave
- Station 4: 2201 E 3rd St
- Station 5: 1987 S Henderson St
Residents are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at any of these locations to contribute to the cause. The food drive aims to alleviate hunger in the community, ensuring that families and individuals in need have access to essential meals during the festive season.
