Bloomington, Indiana – The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has identified a man found deceased near the Wheeler Mission as Shaquille Phillips, aged 31.
In an official statement released today by Monroe County Coroner Joani Stalcup, said the deceased male had no form of identification on his person when discovered. However, through diligent efforts involving fingerprint analysis, the individual has been identified as Shaquille Phillips, aged 31.
Phillips, who was experiencing homelessness at the time of his passing, had been residing in the Bloomington area for less than a year. Originating from the Gary, IN / Chicago, IL area, Phillips’ death remains the subject of an ongoing investigation by local authorities.
“At present, the cause and manner of Shaquille Phillips’ death are pending further investigation,” stated Coroner Joani Stalcup. “An autopsy has been conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his passing.”
