Indiana University Women’s Basketball Falls to Iowa 84-57

IOWA CITY, IA – The #3 Iowa Hawkeyes beat the #14 Indiana Hoosiers, 84-57 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on January 13, 2024.

The Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark scored 30 points, Molly Davis contributed 18 points, and Kate Martin added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Hawkeyes’ three-point shooting was 41.7%.

Facing the Hawkeyes’ defense, Mackenzie Holmes led Indiana in scoring with 16 points.

The first quarter saw both teams battling for control, with Iowa holding a slim 19-17 lead. However, the Hawkeyes seized control in the second quarter, outscoring the Hoosiers 24-20 and extending their lead to 43-37 by halftime.

The third quarter proved decisive as Iowa continued to dominate, adding 22 points to their tally while limiting Indiana to just 11. The Hawkeyes entered the final quarter with a 65-48 lead.

Despite a late surge from the Hoosiers, Iowa’s strong defense and efficient scoring secured the victory.

The win improves Iowa’s record to 17-1 (6-0) while Indiana’s record now stands at 14-2 (5-1).
