Gosport, Indiana – January 14, 2023

A fire that destroyed a structure in Gosport Saturday was the home of a mother, and her three children Saturday, according to Rebecca Bradbury Vadas, who started a GoFundMe to help the family.

The Owen Valley Fire Territory posted on Facebook that they helped the Gosport Volunteer Fire Department fight a structure fire in the 8200 block of Stone Mountain Road, “Tonight crews from Owen Valley Fire Territory were called to assist Gosport Volunteer Fire Department with manpower on a structure fire in the 8200 block of Stone Mountain Rd. Unit 4 and Rescue 48 responded to the call assisting with interior attack and overhaul operations. The dropping temperatures made firefighting even more difficult due to freezing gear. Great work to all the departments on scene Gosport Volunteer Fire Department, Cataract Volunteer Fire Department.”
