Staff report

Bloomington, Indiana – January 17, 2024

Monroe County Coroner Joani Stalcup has confirmed that De’Angelo Tolliver has died. Tolliver was charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed a woman during a marijuana deal in March of 2021.

When the woman and a male met Tolliver, who was 16 at the time, to buy the weed, instead of providing it, Tolliver brandished a gun and allegedly robbed them. As the victims drove away, allegedly Tolliver fired several gunshots at their vehicle, striking and killing the woman. However, the charges against Tolliver were later dismissed, and he was set free.

More recently, Tolliver was arrested again in October 2023 for the unlawful carrying of a firearm and was scheduled to have a pre-trial at the end of January.

However, Tolliver has died, and his cause of death is pending, according to Monroe County Coroner Joani Stalcup. The time of his death wasn’t provided.
