On Thursday, both Julie Thomas, the incumbent County Commissioner for Monroe County District 2, and her primary election opponent, Peter Iversen, participated as guests in the Build with BASCI luncheon held at the Bloomington Country Club.

The two candidates engaged in a discussion moderated by former Bloomington Mayor John Fernandez, focusing on the issue of housing shortages for job candidates in the Bloomington area, as well as the broader concern of affordable housing. The hour-long conversation also delved into various topics, including the proposed new jail, annexation, the necessity for expanding the convention center, and other subjects crucial to Monroe County voters.
