Ivy Tech Bloomington Receives Over $23,000 Grant from Circle of Ivy for Student-Centric Initiatives

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – February 19, 2024

Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington has been awarded a grant totaling $23,050 from the Ivy Tech Foundation’s Women in Philanthropy, Circle of Ivy. The funds are earmarked for seven student-focused projects throughout the academic year, underscoring Circle of Ivy’s commitment to removing barriers to higher education for Ivy Tech students.

Circle of Ivy, a women’s philanthropic arm of Ivy Tech Foundation, raised a substantial sum of over $200,000, with Ivy Tech Bloomington receiving a significant portion for various initiatives that positively impact students.

The grant will support diverse projects at Ivy Tech Bloomington, spanning students’ basic needs, support services, technology upgrades, and opportunities for travel.

The allocated funds will be disbursed as follows:

  • $6,600 for Ivy Cares Cupboard
  • $5,000 for Disability testing accommodations
  • $4,250 for ASAP program trip
  • $3,000 for an AI development workstation
  • $1,750 for Aunt Flow machines
  • $1,550 for an Alternative Spring Break mural
  • $900 for the Food for Thought snack pantry

Heidi Schulz, Executive Director of Development at Ivy Tech Bloomington, expressed gratitude, stating, “Circle of Ivy makes a lasting impact on our students, programs, and facilities. Many thanks to the members of Circle of Ivy for continuing to invest in Ivy Tech student success.”

Since its establishment in 2015, Circle of Ivy has grown to over 1,000 members and has raised more than $1 million to support various projects across Ivy Tech campuses.
