Resilience Productions Shines Spotlight on Pauli Murray’s Legacy in Powerful New Play: ‘Pauli Murray: A Legacy of Resilience’ at Monroe County History Center in March

Resilience Productions is set to bring a powerful new play to the stage at the Monroe County History Center in March 2024. The production, focusing on the life and legacy of Pauli Murray, a trailblazer in civil rights, women’s rights, and LGBTQ rights, promises to captivate audiences with its riveting storytelling.

Pauli Murray, a woman ahead of her time, played a crucial role in history. Thurgood Marshall utilized Murray’s arguments to secure victory in the landmark case of Brown versus Board of Education. The play unfolds the compelling narrative of an African American woman who dedicated her life to the fight for human rights and dignity for all.

Titled “Pauli Murray: A Legacy of Resilience,” the play is the brainchild of Resilience Productions, featuring a script penned by Dr. Gladys DeVane. Danielle Bruce takes the directorial helm, bringing Murray’s story to life on the stage. The play is narrated by Elizabeth Mitchell.

Play runs on March 22nd, and 23rd at 6 p.m. Also, March 24th at 3 p.m.
