Man Robs Circle K at Gunpoint in Bloomington Monday Night, Police Seek Suspect

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — March 12, 2024

A man entered a Circle K convenience store, located at 503 West Kirkwood, and robbed it at gunpoint Monday night, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

The BPD reported that the suspect, whose face was obscured by a white t-shirt, entered the establishment around 10:34 p.m. He proceeded past a customer at the counter and then behind it, where he brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the cash drawer. The employee complied with the demands.

After obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the scene, heading west into the alley behind the business. Despite efforts by law enforcement, the suspect has not been arrested, and the case remains active. Detectives from the Bloomington Police Department are now leading the investigation.

Scanner traffic archives from OpenMHZ.com revealed that police established a three-block perimeter as they conducted their search for the suspect. Assistance was also provided by the Indiana State Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the robbery.
