Residential Fire Displaces Residents in Ellettsville

ELLETTSVILLE, Ind. — April 18, 2024

Firefighters battled a blaze late Monday night that engulfed a residence in the 6000 block of W. McNeely Street in Ellettsville, according to the Ellettville Fire Department

The Ellettsville Fire Department, Monroe Fire Protection District, and IU Health Lifeline EMS responded to the emergency call at 8:23 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, the first unit on scene reported heavy fire conditions, prompting a coordinated response.

Efforts to contain the blaze necessitated the closure of the street for several hours as units utilized a supply line from a nearby hydrant to combat the fire.

Residents of the structure were successfully evacuated, with the exception of one canine companion. No injuries were reported among the occupants or emergency personnel.

Assisting agencies, including the Ellettsville Police Department, provided support throughout the incident.

The American Red Cross was notified to provide aid to the displaced residents.
