Police and Crime Briefs – April 26 – May 2, 2024

Hit and run – April 26, 2024

An 86-year-old man was involved in a traffic collision during which the other driver fled the scene in the 800 block of West Gourley Pike. Police later caught up with a 34-year-old woman arrested for leaving the collision scene.

Assault at Big Lots – April 26, 2024

During an argument at Big Lots, in the 3600 block of West Third Street liquid from a beverage bottle struck a woman, and a male reported that a woman kicked him in the nose.

Hit and run – April 26, 2024

An employee at the Marathon Gas station in the 1700 block of North Kinser Pike reported that a vehicle struck a fence and left.

Purse Theft – April 27, 2024

An 84-year-old woman told police she set her purse down at the Kroger in the 500 block of South College, and someone stole it, and the cash inside it.

Trespassing – May 2, 2024

An employee of T&T Pet Supply reported that two unknown suspects entered a fenced area of the closed business and defecated and then left.

Gun stolen from vehicle – May 2, 2024

A male, 20 years old, told police that someone entered his vehicle, and stole a handgun. There were no signs of forced entry.

Editor’s note: Please don’t leave guns in your vehicles. A lot of guns are getting stolen out of vehicles and many of them are unlocked.
