BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — June 12, 2024

The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market (BCFM) is set to host its annual Young Artists and Growers Day this Saturday, June 15th, promising a day filled with music, art, and community interaction.

The Heritage Hall Ramblers Dixieland band will kick off the festivities, performing traditional Dixieland tunes from the 1920s to the present. The band, an affiliate of the Bloomington Community Band, will entertain market-goers with their lively music.

Following the Ramblers, the JDRD Combo, a quartet of local high school friends, will take the stage. Nathaniel Jimenez (piano), Elvin Debruicker (saxophone), Max Rose (bass), and Elvin Deckard (drums) will perform two sets on the BCFM Circular Stage from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Reimagining Opera for Kids (ROK), a non-profit community arts and education organization based in Bloomington, will present a performance from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on the top tier of the City Hall entry steps. ROK has been well-received across Indiana in schools, libraries, hospitals, and community centers.

As part of the community outreach program “Mayor’s Team at the Table,” Deputy Mayor Gretchen Knapp will be available to greet the public between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. This initiative invites market-goers to engage with the mayor and various department heads from the City of Bloomington government.

Market organizers remind attendees that pets, even clean and well-behaved ones, are not permitted in any farm product or food vending area to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
