Events: Bloomington to Host Inaugural Vegan Chef Challenge

Written from press release

The inaugural Bloomington Vegan Chef Challenge is set to kick off on August 1st, offering Bloomington and area residents a chance to explore creative and delicious plant-based menu options from local chefs. Running throughout the month of August, the event invites the community to taste, enjoy, and vote for their favorite vegan dishes.

The challenge, organized by Vegan Outreach, aims to showcase the rising popularity of veganism and its many benefits. “We want everyone to experience the joy and health benefits of plant-based eating,” said Austin Simmons, the event organizer. “This challenge is a fun and interactive way to introduce more vegan options into our local dining scene.”

How to Participate:

  • GO! From August 1st to August 31st, visit the Bloomington Vegan Chef Challenge website to see the list of participating restaurants and their special vegan menu items.
  • EAT! Sample the unique vegan dishes offered by your favorite local restaurants.
  • VOTE! Cast your vote for the best dishes either at the restaurants or online by August 31st.

Participating restaurants include Pili’s Party Taco, The Owlery Restaurant, Rasta Pops, and Upland Brew Pub. More businesses are encouraged to join by adding new vegan options to their menus and applying through the event website.

The winning dishes will be announced in September. For the latest updates on the challenge, visit
